Welcome! We invite you to join us for worship at the First Congregational Church of Westminster. Our Church Service starts at 9:30 each Sunday in the Sanctuary. Nursery will be provided. Sunday School starts at 9:15 in Covenant Hall.
Ages 1st-8th grade are welcome – join us as we continue our journey around the world!
Back in November, the children in Singers & Scholars packed twelve shoe boxes to send to children around the world through Operation Christmas Child. Our boxes were sent to the Democratic Republic of Congo, Burkina Faso, and Angola. Thanks again for your support and your prayers!
When the song of the angels is stilled,
When the star in the sky is gone,
When the kings and the princes are home,
When the shepherds are back with their flock,
The work of Christmas begins:
To find the lost,
To feed the hungry,
To release the prisoner,
To rebuild the nations,
To bring peace and goodwill,
To make music in the heart.
Program Planning Conference
The Program Planning Conference will be held on Sunday, January 8, 2012 at 5:30 PM. A Soup Supper will be served.
At this Conference, we will schedule all committee meetings and also any events that involve the church community. Examples of dates we will need to schedule would be the Yankee Street Fair date, dates for special offerings, (such as Neighbors in Need and One Great Hour of Sharing,) Women’s Fellowship meetings and events, and as many committee meeting dates as possible. Some committees have found that meeting the same day of every month simplifies their planning (i.e. Deacons meet the first Tuesday of every month except during the summer.) All committees will receive calendars from 2011 to help them plan for the 2012 year.
At your next committee meeting, you need to prepare for the 2012 calendar year and see what meetings and events you need to schedule. Although most committees meet every month, it is important that dates get scheduled so the church as a whole can see what is planned. We hope that every committee and group within the church will send a representative to this important meeting.
